Spring is right around the corner, as the weather gets warmer and the days get longer. With a change in season comes a change of what songs UMD students are streaming. From sunny new pop songs to underground indie tracks, Maryland’s spring music lineup has something for everyone.
Sophomore hearing and speech sciences major Claire Roffman chose “Three Little Birds” by Bob Marley as her favorite spring song.
“When the sun comes out and the weather gets nice, I want music that reflects my mood or has positive vibes,” said Roffman. “When I was younger, I used to listen to three little birds outside on the porch of my condo in the spring. And we would watch people walk by. And everyone would be happy.”
“Somewhere Only We Know” by Keane is senior architecture major Robyn Resnick’s favorite because it “has good vibes and is the type of song you can listen to anytime, anywhere.”
“Unwritten” by Natasha Bedingfield is “my go-to pump up song because the song is so catchy and uplifting,” according to Maya Seiler, a sophomore psychology major.
Junior biology student Evangelia Zoulis chose to add “Sundress” by A$AP Rocky because “it’s the perfect song to listen to when you’re driving with the windows down on a nice day with your friends.”
Lily Katz, a sophomore sociology major, is excited to add “Praise Jah in the Moonlight” by YG Marley to our spring playlist. “It has super good vibes, is catchy, went viral on TikTok, and is sung by Bob Marley’s kid, I think, so that is pretty cool.”
