After releasing many song collaborations to his original album, Noah Kahan’s “Stick Season (Forever)” finalized his collection on Feb. 9th.
The album includes the original 14 songs from the album, plus seven deluxe tracks, eight duets, and one brand new song making this deluxe album have 30 songs total.
According to Billboard statistics, Kahan has had major success with Stick Season since its release in 2022, with over 37 million monthly listeners on Spotify, and multiple songs in the Billboard Top 100.
The endless collaborations with fellow singer/songwriters brought great success to Kahan’s album. The eight duets on the album feature some of the most popular indie artists, including Gracie Abrams and Lizzy McAlpine. Post Malone, Kacey Musgraves, and Hozier also have features on the album, bringing in ties to country, rap, and folk music.
The only new song from “Stick Season (Forever)” is called “Forever,” which in the past two weeks since the album was released, has more than 12 million streams on Spotify.
“Forever” gained popularity on TikTok before the release, one of the main ways Kahan made his way to the public’s ear. Sophomore psychology major, Aly Amond said, “I found Noah Kahan from TikTok and started listening from there.” When asked about his new deluxe album she said, “I like that all the extra songs are now in one album, but I'm ready for more new music.”
Another sophomore, education major Anna Lightsey, is a self-proclaimed, “new fan” of Kahan’s music and said that this album, “Forever” was super helpful because all of the stick season songs were in one place.
She said, “I love being able to hear the original tracks and then the duets back to back with ease.”
Along with the success of this album, Kahan’s career has taken off. According to his website, he has been touring this album since 2022 and is set to add even more dates to this tour all through 2024.
“Stick Season (Forever)” might conclude the “Stick Season” era, but this isn’t the end of Noah Kahan’s songwriting. The tour ends on September 13, 2024, in Canada, however, tickets for the U.S. shows are still available on Ticketmaster,Noah Kahan’s website, and many other ticket sites.
