With the spring weather making its appearance, there has been a natural boost in possible outdoor activities to engage in. Whether that outdoor activity is a stroll in the park or sunbathing on the grass, many students are excited to enjoy the fresh air that they may not get in their rooms.
Recently, picnics have been a fairly safe and favorite go-to outdoor activity for students. Cheese platters and fruits are a few popular foods to bring out on picnics, but there is always room for some personal touches and customization.
In hosting my own solo picnic, I decided to customize it to my own taste, both literally and figuratively.

As a tea-lover and big snacker, this custom picnic had to include some personal snack essentials.

In addition to the tea and snacks, I packed a plate with a (poorly-cut) slice of apple pie onto a tray and brought out a book recommended by a friend: The Memory Police by Yoko Ogawa.

Since I did not have a traditional picnic blanket, I placed everything onto a fun-looking beach towel to complete the outdoor aesthetic.
As is true with many other things, picnics are customizable to personal preference: rather than a book for a picnic activity, another idea could be to bring out a drawing pad or a camera for a photoshoot. It’s because of this flexibility that picnics are such a popular outdoor activity!
