7 long-lasting products for all your hair, body and beauty needs!

Moving into the spring semester of this school year, long days are ahead with sorority recruitment, game days, interviews and classes; but this shouldn’t mean having to touch up hair and makeup or apply deodorant every hour.
Instead of spending money on items that might work, here are some long-lasting hair, makeup, and deodorant products that students use in their own busy lives.
Sophomore psychology major Erin Ashman is on the University of Maryland Dance Team and shared her go-to hair products that have survived football and basketball games.
Matrix Vavoom Extra Hold Freezing Spray is available on Amazon and Ulta Beauty for $24 to $29 depending on the size and type of hold you get.
“I spray this in my hair after I finish curling it,” said Ashman, “ it lasts me throughout the whole game.”
Ashman said that the extreme hold spray she uses probably has more “freeze” than the average person would need, but there are many other options depending on how strong you want your hairspray to be.
The IKT Hair Wax Stick is Ashman’s “holy grail,” she said. While slicked-back hairstyles have become popular, it’s essential to find an easy way to stick down and smooth back your hair. Ashman uses this both on and off the dance floor, and it is arguably affordable at $4.79 on Amazon.
She said, “It pretty much lasts until I shower and wash it out, so I would definitely recommend it for anyone doing slick back hairstyles.”
Another student experienced with long-lasting products is sophomore special education major Brooke Denmark, who is on the UMD Cheerleading team. She said that when she gets ready for a game day, one of her goals is to have an easy makeup routine that stays intact for the whole day. Here are some of her favorite products:
L’Oreal’s Infallible 24HR Fresh Wear Foundation Powder comes in both powder and liquid form. Denmark uses both products but especially recommends the powder because it always lasts a full game and mattifies her skin, she said. This product is available at Ulta Beauty for $16.99 and $14.99 on Amazon.
Denmark has also found that Rare Beauty has quality long-lasting products. She uses the blush and bronzer from the brand and said they are great for long days. “I like this brand because the colors aren’t too intense,” said Denmark, “and they don’t fade off your face after a few hours outside.” The blush is available on Amazon or at Sephora for $23.
The last two products are favorites of Alexandra Domrongchai, a writer for Travel and Leisure as well as a prior Ulta Beauty employee. Her article about her personal 15 best product recommendations from Ulta is another useful tool for finding affordable, quality products.
The Urban Decay All-Nighter Setting Spray has gone viral on social media recently. It has many glowing reviews, including one from Domrongchai, who said in her own experience the spray has quite literally lasted 24 hours. The spray is available at both Ulta Beauty and Sephora and ranges from $17 for travel size to $36 for the regular size.
A deodorant that smells fresh all day is Rio Deo Aluminum-Free Refillable Deodorant Cheirosa '62. It has stellar reviews as a natural, aluminum-free, deodorant. Sol de Janeiro is mainly known for its perfumes, but their deodorants should not go unnoticed. There are many different scents and refills available at Sephora or online on the Sol de Janeiro website. The deodorant is $16.
These products are just some of the many long-lasting beauty products available that UMD students recommend. Whether it be a long-lasting hair, makeup or body product, there is something for everyone.
